Betting Disclaimer

Last updated

OnlineBasketballBetting.net writes about basketball betting, sportsbooks, casinos, racing, lottery and fantasy contests for readers in the United States. The site is owned by Marquilla Interactive B.V., Emancipatie Boulevard Dominico F. “Don” Martina 31, Willemstad, Curaçao. What follows is the plain list of things the site does not promise, and why.

No page here is betting advice

Previews, prop breakdowns, line movement notes and “best price” tables explain how a market works. They are not a recommendation to stake money on any side, total or player. Basketball is played by people who get hurt in warm-ups, rest on the second night of a back-to-back and miss free throws in the last minute; nobody can forecast that reliably, and we do not claim to. Any bet you place is your decision, made with your money, under the rules of the book that takes it.

Expected-value arithmetic, closing-line comparisons and bankroll examples on the site use round illustrative numbers. They show the method, not a result you should expect. Past results of a team, a trend or a betting system say nothing certain about the next game.

Odds, lines and offers move faster than pages

A spread quoted in an article was the spread when the paragraph was written. Totals shift on injury news, props are pulled when a player is listed questionable, and welcome offers are swapped between states without an announcement. Every page shows the date it was last edited near the top; treat anything older than that date as unverified. The figure that counts is the one on the operator’s betslip or promotions page at the moment you confirm.

Where our numbers come from

Bonus amounts, play-through multiples, minimum odds, deposit limits, withdrawal windows and licence details are copied from the operator’s own published terms or from the state regulator’s public records. If neither source publishes a number, we print a dash rather than an estimate. That rule protects you from our guesses; it cannot protect you from an operator who changes its terms after we copied them.

Legal status depends on where you stand

Sports betting, online casino play, poker, horse racing wagering, lottery sales and daily fantasy are each regulated state by state, and a product legal in one state can be unlawful a few miles away. Our state pages summarise what each regulator has published; they are a starting point, not legal advice. Laws change between legislative sessions and courts reinterpret them. If the question matters to you — for example because you travel, live near a state line or hold an account with an offshore site — ask a lawyer licensed where you are.

Some operators reviewed on the site are licensed by a US state; others are licensed abroad and take American customers without approval from any state. We say which is which on each review. An offshore licence gives you none of the protections a state regulator offers: no state complaint process, no state-supervised segregation of player funds and no state enforcement if a withdrawal is refused. Using such a site is your choice and your risk.

Age

Readers have to be 21 at least. Where a state allows a product from a lower age, the operator’s own rule still applies, and our rule does not change.

We are not the operator

OnlineBasketballBetting.net does not take bets, hold balances, run games, settle markets or verify identities. We cannot reverse a graded bet, unlock an account, speed up a payout or interpret an operator’s house rules on its behalf. A dispute belongs with the operator first, in writing, and then with the body that licensed it. Ratings and rankings on this site are opinions formed from published information and our own testing; they are not a certificate of solvency, fairness or good conduct.

Sportsbook, casino, league and team names and logos are third-party marks. We print them so readers know which product a paragraph is about; their owners have not endorsed the site by that. OnlineBasketballBetting.net is not affiliated with the NBA, the WNBA, the NCAA or any team or league named on the site.

Money changes hands when you click some links

Links to operators run through /go/ and can earn Marquilla Interactive B.V. a fee when a reader registers with that book. The operator pays it; your offer is the same as for anyone else. The affiliate disclosure explains the payment models and where their reach ends. A commission arrangement is not a guarantee from us that the operator will treat you fairly.

External sites

We link to regulators, leagues, help services, payment providers and news sources because readers need them. Their uptime, privacy practices and accuracy sit outside our control, and linking to a page does not mean we vouch for all of it. If a link has gone dead, tell us and we will replace or remove it.

Taxes

Gambling winnings are generally taxable income in the United States, and operators may issue tax forms. Our tax articles describe the general rules as published by the tax authorities; they do not replace advice from a tax professional who knows your circumstances, your state and your records.

How far our responsibility goes

Reading costs nothing, and the site comes without warranties. To the extent the law of your state allows, Marquilla Interactive B.V. accepts no responsibility for money lost on a bet, a deposit, a missed offer, an outdated figure, a third-party site or the site being unavailable. Nothing in this paragraph removes a right that the law where you live says cannot be removed. The terms and conditions contain the full wording.

Gambling can hurt

Decide the sum you can afford to lose before the first wager and walk away once it is spent. Do not bet to win back losses, to pay a bill or to change how you feel. If you or someone close to you is struggling, the National Problem Gambling Helpline answers at 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738) by call, text or chat, every day of the year, in all fifty states. It is not an emergency line: when someone is at risk of harm right now, dial 911; the 988 lifeline takes mental-health emergencies. Our responsible gambling guide lists deposit caps, cool-off periods and self-exclusion tools offered by licensed operators.

Telling us something is wrong

We correct pages when a reader shows us a better source. Send the page address and the source and the edit date on the page will move once it is fixed. Postal correspondence goes to Marquilla Interactive B.V., Emancipatie Boulevard Dominico F. “Don” Martina 31, Willemstad, Curaçao.
