Florida Horse Betting Rules

Since 1968, there has been a racing commission in Florida that oversees horse racing in the Sunshine State. That commission’s rules have been pretty straightforward, but the division is now known as the Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering.

This division is in charge of all horse racing in the state, and has legalized harness racing, thoroughbred racing, and quarterhorses. In addition to in-person betting, you can bet at local OTB locations or online through services like TVG, BetAmerica, or TwinSpires.

Greyhound racing is no longer legal in the state of Florida, but there are still locations offering simulcast betting on these races. Horse betting, unlike greyhound racing, doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.

Online services like those mentioned above offer Florida horse betting in addition to bets on races across the country and abroad. Access favorite events like Kentucky Derby betting and the Breeders’ Cup betting, and many more.

The best thing about online horse betting is the ability to get extra promotions and bonuses added to your account. If you’re looking for an online horse racing platform, make sure to check out their welcome offers to see if they’re bringing something to the table that suits your needs.

Also, try looking at what you can do for FL sports betting and FL online casinos.

  • Gulfstream Park, Hallandale Beach
  • Hialeah Park Race Track, Hialeah
  • Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park, Pompano Bay
